1. Introduction

The Salesforce Field API Name Viewer ("the Extension") is a productivity tool designed for Salesforce administrators and developers. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting any data associated with your use of the Extension.

2. Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, or transmit any user data.

  • No Personal Information: The Extension does not collect names, email addresses, or any other personally identifiable information.

  • No Browsing History: We do not track the websites you visit or your browsing activity.

  • No Salesforce Data Extraction: The Extension only interacts with your active Salesforce session to identify field labels and display their corresponding API names. This data stays entirely within your browser and is never sent to any external server.

3. How the Extension Works

The Extension works by making local API calls to your Salesforce instance using your existing session authentication. These calls are made solely to retrieve field metadata for the page you are currently viewing. All processing happens on your local machine.

4. Permission Justifications

To provide its functionality, the Extension requires the following permissions:

  • storage: Used to save your preference for whether the extension is enabled or disabled.

  • activeTab & scripting: Used to identify Salesforce pages and inject the badges that show API names.

  • cookies: Used to read the Salesforce session ID (sid) and domain to authenticate requests to the Salesforce UI and Tooling APIs.

  • Host Permissions: Allows the extension to interact with your specific Salesforce domains (*.salesforce.com and *.force.com).

5. Data Security

The Extension does not have a backend server. Any data accessed (such as API names) is handled temporarily in memory and is destroyed when the tab is closed or the Extension is toggled off. We do not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising scripts.
